Helicopters and prostitutes!

My lack of posts are certainly not for want of good stories! internet access is still a mission sometimes.

But first a pic of our latest adventure...

Yep, old Rogier had to be rescued off the Torre Trieste in the southern dolomites after a 'small' slip. Luckily all is well with him (though we were certainly rattled). The heli rescue was in fact spectacular... hovering 15m from my face and 3m from the cliff face, picking up Rogier off a ledge 50m below us! These guys ceretainly know what they are doing.

We did get to have some fun too though:

Unfortunately the weather turned and after Bas and Walter left for Holland, Ray and I headed south to the Adriatic coast for some sun and surf.

On the way down we found a nice little lake next to which we decided to camp for the night. Promptly, after some wine and a nice dinner, the old house next the lake came to life with music, lights and battered mercedes'. What we thought was a tranquil backwater ended up being a rather dodgy brothel. Off course we only realised this after we had actually gone in for a beer only to be surrounded by African and Croatian beauties. We were told that we could talk to them if we bought them drinks at 25eur a shot! After a quick conference in Dutch, we decided that it would be best for our wallets (and other accessories..) to leave asap!

The next evening was much better... a farm somewhere around Bologna:

Now in Porto Nuovo below Ancona, having dinner with some crazy Italians, Fijians en Mexicans (nicknames like Shrek and Borat cama up!) tonight...

Groetjes, Bart & Thea
